After what seemed like continuous rumors with varying outcomes, The Milwaukee Bucks made the decision to keep superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo on the list next to NBA trade deadline. Now, of course, they could revisit trade talks in the offseason, but for now, the biggest potential domino remains in place. In the hours of waiting until the deadline, the Bucks social media team trolled NBA insiders as if they knew all along what the end result would be.

In the days leading up to the deadline, Giannis continued to confirm his desire to stay at Bucksprovided they continue to try to mold the roster into a competitive team. Since the Bucks made a run to the NBA Finals in 2021, winning a title in the process, they haven’t been able to recapture that form amid Antetokounmpo entering his prime.
Currently, Antetokounmpo is sidelined with a calf injury. The timetable for his return to the field is unclear, and he will likely miss the 2026 All-Star Game where he was voted a starter. The No. 15 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Antetokounmpo has one year left on his current deal before he can opt out of the deal in the 2027 offseason.
He has been limited to just 30 games this season due to injury, just over 29 minutes per game. He averaged 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists on 64.5 percent shooting from the field, 39.5 percent from the 3-point line and 65.8 percent from the free throw line.
