The Warriors are cruising against the Jazz

Stephen Curry

Carried by a cheeky outside address in the first quarter (7/14), Stephen Curry (27 points) and Warriors quickly take the lead on the jazz floor (34-21). It takes Juta twelve minutes to set the sights. The awakening of Keyon George (19 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds) and Ace Bailey (16 points), as well as the contribution of Kyle Filipovski (10 points) who came off the bench, allowed them to go 10-0 against the opponent and get back into the game (45-39).

Unfortunately for them, Steve Kerr’s players continue to light the fuse. Buddy Hield (13 points), Moses Moody (26 points, 5/9 three-pointers) and Quinten Post (10 points, 6 rebounds) made 7 of 11 shots from behind the arc, and Golden State returned to the locker room with a 13-point lead (68-55).

Warriors control the proceedings

Stephen Curry’s hot shot to start the second half brings the deficit over twenty points (91-69). The Warriors then slow down, lose a series of turnovers, and Utah rushes to the break. Lauri Markkanen (18 points, 6/14 shooting), so far clumsy, wakes up, Brice Sensabaugh (19 points) follows him, and the Jazz finish the third quarter with 24-10 and again cause uncertainty (101-93).

Golden State then finds its address at the best time. Will Richard (13 points) and Moses Moody started the final period with a long-range goal. The Warriors regained their ease, before Moody and Guy Santos (16 points) started a 16-0 run that definitely destroyed the match (136-109).

WHAT TO REMEMBER

67 points for the Golden State bench. The Warriors controlled the game from start to finish, thanks in large part to their substitutions. Guy Santos (16), Buddy Hield (13), Will Richard (13), De’Anthony Melton (12), Quinten Post (10) all finished the game with ten or more points and 12/22 3-pointers. God’s gift to a team that has been searching for itself ever since Jimmy Butler’s injury.

Al Horford moves into the starting five. Steve Kerr often compares five-player combos to a jigsaw puzzle. If you remove a part, you cannot simply replace it. Everything should be reviewed. Without the creation and composure of Jimmy Butler, Steve Kerr opted to throw in Brandin Podziemski, but also Al Horford instead of Quinten Post. The veteran brings his knowledge and some defensive complementarity with Draymond Green. Last night, with 9 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks, he was omnipresent and finished the game with a +/- of +22. After an already successful tenure in Minnesota, Steve Kerr decided to continue with the former Celtic in the starting five, while limiting playing time to 24 minutes.

Keyonta George and Lauri Markkanen in a tough game. Facing a well-established Golden State defense, the Jazz’s two stars struggled to find their rhythm. Markkanen was just 2/8 shooting at halftime and needed 14 shots to score his 18 points. George had the opposite problem, playing a good first half, rebounding after halftime, finishing with 19 points, but 6/15 shooting.
