The Warriors are still linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James
As the rumor mill continues to heat up three weeks before the NBA trade deadline, Golden State Warriors are associated with Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Lakers‘ LeBron Jamesaccording to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints. The The Lakers are reportedly interested in the Warriors’ Jonathan Cummingswhile Golden State, after losing Jimmy Butler III for the season to a torn ACL, prioritized trading Cummings.
Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference, everyone signs point to Antetokounmpo and Bucks parting ways, albeit before the February 5 deadline or during the off-season. The Bucks could be one Janis trade request away from finding a new home for the nine-time All-Star forward, Siegel says.
“Should Giannis request a trade from the Bucks, Warriors owner Joe Lacob will do whatever it takes to try to put his organization at the front of the line for the two-time MVP, multiple sources told ClutchPoints. He’s the only player the Dubs would be willing to move any of their assets for before this year’s trade deadline,” Siegel said.
As for James, who was recently in the news this week after an ESPN feature on Lakers governor Jeannie Bass exposed her displeasure with LeBron over the years, joining forces with All-Star Stephen Curry a viable option for the Warriors?
“Pairing him with Curry to end their careers was something Golden State explored recently,” Siegel added. “It almost seems like the annual phone call the Warriors and Lakers have, as the Dubs have made a serious push for James ahead of the 2024 NBA trade deadline, and the league’s all-time leading scorer is closely tied with Curry and Draymond Green.”
“With tensions rising in Los Angeles and James looking set to leave the Lakers this coming offseason, perhaps he and his agent, Rich Paul of Clutch Sports, would seriously consider waiving his no-trade clause and moving to the Warriors.”
While there have been no concrete talks between the Lakers and Warriors regarding LeBron this season, Los Angeles’ interest in Cummings has been reported, while a potential James move before the deadline is unlikely.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks headed for “divorce”

Have an All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks reached the point no return? So it seems, given the whistles, the constant loss, topped by Antetokounmpo calling his teammates selfish after a 122-102 loss to the Thunder.
In the midst of the Bucks’ disastrous 2025-26 campaign, Antetokounmpo’s coming out feels inevitableaccording to the eye test and ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
“It’s pretty much the couple that everybody in the league thinks is going to get divorced. They don’t know if they’re going to get divorced by Easter, if they’re going to get divorced by July 4th, but around the league, teams believe this is going to be a divorce,” Windhorst said. “And I know what Giannis said on the record, I know what Doc says.”
“The Bucks, as far as I know, aren’t taking Giannis’ phone calls yet; they’re just making outgoing calls. Having said that, I can only tell you that teams are prepared, thinking this could end up being a split at some point.”
“Teams believe this will be a divorce … The Bucks, as far as I know, are still not taking Giannis’ phone calls, they’re just making outgoing calls … teams are willing to think this could end up being a separation at some point.”
