The Warriors are ‘working several angles’ on Jonathan Cumminga’s trade front

With many signs pointing to Golden State Warriors parting with Jonathan Cummingasources say he will most likely be moved at the NBA trade deadline, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints. Without a role in this year’s team, Cuminga’s days with the Warriors are numbered as Kerr somewhat alluded to when he talked about Jonathan’s minimal role.

The warriors rush a real deal to move Cummings, as Siegel noted, according to Clutch Scoops.

“The Warriors are focused on moving Jonathan Cuminga… They are already working on several angles involving Cuminga… The Warriors will have a deal to move him before the deadline.”

While there hasn’t been any specific team linked to Jonathan Cummings and a potential deal with the Warriors, that’s sure to change in the near future as rumors increase the closer we get to the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr has not confirmed trade rumors surrounding Jonathan Cumminga. If anything, he may have gotten involved in them after his recent comments. Rival teams expect the Warriors to trade Cummings before the deadline.

At the same time, Kerr revealed why he doesn’t see Kuminga will soon take on an increasing role with the Warriors, he said, according to Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicle.

“It’s tough because he’s not a short-minute player. I’ve played with a bunch of guys for eight, ten minutes at a time,” Kerr said. “JK is a guy that needs his rhythm. He’s not Guy (Santos), who’s going to come in or Pat (Spencer), just fly around, play with high energy for four minutes and come out. He needs some rhythm. He always has to stay ready.

“There’s a way here, but it’s not there right now. But things change quickly in the NBA.”

While Kerr admits that Kuminga is in a difficult situation, things could improve in due course.
