The Warriors team is stronger than Luka Dončić’s 43 points…

Luka Doncic and the Lakers against the WarriorsFor this first match of the season for both teams, the stars are here. 12 points Jimmy Butlerincluding 7/7 on free throws and 10 points Luka Dončić set the tone. The turnovers and clumsiness of the Lakers, however, allowed Golden State to take control of operations (28-22).

DocAustin Reaves (26 points, 9 assists) takes over from Luka Doncic, the Warriors’ defensive activity continues to frustrate Los Angeles. Stephen Curry, so far discreet, uses a flagrant foul by Marcus Smart to enter his match. A 3-point shot put Golden State at +10 (45-35).

However, JJ Reddick’s men are getting back on track. Luka Doncic leads 16-5, finished with three game-winning shots, including two for Rui Hachimura (9 points), to regain the lead. It took Jimmy Butler’s foul play to allow the Warriors to take the lead at halftime (55-54).

Jonathan Kuminga en facteur Ks

As in their prime, the Warriors started the third quarter with a bang. Behind the uncompromising defense as always and 11 points from Jonathan Cumminga (17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists), Golden State adds 23-7 to its opponents and takes a 17-point lead (78-61)! Despite Luka Doncic scoring nearly half of his team’s points, the Lakers are in trouble. Jake LaRavia’s three-pointer, followed by a basket after an offensive rebound, still allowed them to stay in the trap (90-79).

Despite his five fouls, Austin Reaves tries to wake up his team, but Buddy Hield (17 points, 5/10 on 3-pointers) caught fire. He multiplies the winning shots and Golden State restores the advantage of 16 points (100-84). The Lakers, however, do not admit defeat. Golden State continues with three empty possessions, and the duo Doncic – Reaves uses the opportunity to start a 9-0 score that again causes uncertainty (105-99).

Steve Kerr’s band, however, gets the job done. Draymond Green’s three-pointer, Jimmy Butler’s throws and Stephen Curry’s ten-yard three-pointer confirm Golden State’s victory on the Lakers’ floor.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– The Golden State team is in full swing. 29 assists, 48% shooting success and 42% three-point shooting. The movement and unselfishness of the Warriors overtook the Lakers’ defense. With the addition of an aggressive Jimmy Butler and 16/16 free throw shooting, a skilled Buddy Hield off the bench and an engaging Will Richard for his first NBA game, Steve Kerr can be pleased with this first outing.

– Luka Dončić is as brilliant as he is lonely. 43 points with 65% shooting success, 12 rebounds, 8 assists. In the absence of LeBron James, the Slovenian was unstoppable last night… but it wasn’t enough. Unlike Luka Doncic, the rest of the Lakers got through it. DeAndre Ayton was transparent, the bench unconvincing, Rui Hachimura too discreet. Only Austin Reaves adjusted his sights, but too late, late in the game, to help the Lakers win. JJ Redick and his staff have their work cut out for them.

– Jonathan of Montre Godfather. If he failed to slow down Luka Doncic, Jonathan Kuminga made a clean offensive copy. He finished the game with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, while he was more than 50% successful on shots and 4/6 from three points. After a rich summer, he responded in the best possible way. Inserted into the starting five by Steve Kerr, the winger was right in the game instead of going against the grain as so often in previous seasons.
