The Wizards are losing Tre Johnson indefinitely
It is already struggling – and that is putting it mildly – on a collective level, Wizards learned some news that they could do without. Their rookie Tre Johnson is suffering from a hip flexor muscle injury, which will keep him out of action indefinitely.
This is Brian Keefe, the trainer Washington, who revealed it to the press : « We’ll know more in a few weeks, but he’s had a solid start to the season for someone playing through a lot of pain, averaging nearly 12 points and 40% from 3-point range. I was impressed with him and his ability to play through pain. He’s a really solid kid. » and he congratulated him.
In any case, this is bad news for the Wizards, holders of the worst record in the NBA (1 win – 15 losses), and Tre Johnson, one of the few rays of sunshine in the capital franchise (11.5 points, 3 rebounds and 1.3 assists, over 24 minutes and 45% shooting, including 3-45% shooting). During his only year at the University of Texas, the sixth overall pick suffered the same injury.
However, it will benefit Bilal Coulibaly, Cam Whitmore, Corey Kispert, Justin Champagne, Malachi Branham, Will Riley and even AJ Johnson in Washington’s rotation.
Probably until December because, for an identical injury, the unavailability of Stephen Castle initially it was between one and two weeks. It can, in the worst case, go up to four weeks.
