The Wolves suffer against the decimated Clippers

Anthony EdwardsAfter a narrow victory against the Blazers, the Wolves had a chance to continue in case of success against the Clippers, especially the amputees Kawhi Leonardin Los Angeles. Donte DiVincenzo takes responsibility for opening the scoring with the winning basket, but Benedict Maturin responds with four points before serving Derrick Jones Jr. (17 points, 7/11 shooting) who can convert the “and one”. With his numerous absences, Tyronn Lue is starting again Bogdan Bogdanovic who hasn’t played since February 4th…

The “second unit” of the Clippers started well, but after twelve minutes of play, the Californians were two points behind (29-27). Minnesota then had a chance to take off, taking advantage of the clumsiness of the locals and losing the ball, but it didn’t happen.

Wolves are just as scrappy and the two teams combined for a dreadful 1/17 from distance in the second act. Back in the dressing room, Chris Finch’s men are still debating (44-38).

From the start of the second half, nerves boiled between Chris Dunn etc Jaden McDaniels because of a flagrant foul by the Wolves winger on Benedikt Maturin. As a result, the Clippers leader received a technical foul, but that didn’t stop the home team from opening the second half with a 6-1 run and getting back within a point.

Anthony Edwards has the last word

Intuit Dome residents eventually pass Derrick Jones Jr. beforeAnthony Edwards (31 points, shooting 12/24) put an end to this 8-0. Entering the final act, Minnesota quickly closed the gap thanks to a five-point deficit Naz Reid etc Donte DiVincenzo before Bones Hyland does not give the advantage back to the guests on a long shot.

Five minutes from time, Wolves lead by four points after 2+1 from Jaden McDaniels. The Clippers spend the entire “money time” chasing a score, even getting back within a point several times without ever being able to get ahead.

In the last minute, Anthony Edwards scored a three-pointer against Chris Dunn and Derrick Jones Jr. (92-88). Tyronn Lue takes a timeout and Nicholas Batum (6 rebounds, 3 assists) loses the ball from a throw-in. Thus, the Clippers end up losing 94-88 and have a third failure in a row.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

Two awkward teams. Amputees Darius Garland, John Collins and Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers’ lack of offensive success isn’t surprising. However, Tyronn Lue’s men never trailed as Minnesota didn’t shine either, going 1/10 in shooting. Julius Randle. Evidence of this overall clumsiness, the two teams combined for 13/48 from 3-point range.

At the end of the match, Anthony Edwards is still the boss. Anthony Edwards once again proved that he is one of the big favorites for the “Clutch Player of the Year” trophy. In the time of “money” when baskets were few, the Wolves star took matters into his own hands. First from mid-range to prevent the Clippers from getting back in front, then he killed the Californians with this long-range shot in the final minute. MVP of the last All-Star Game finished the match with 31 points on 12/24 shooting.

Another loss in “money time” for the Clippers. Los Angeles thus suffered a third consecutive failure. Three defeats that occurred, each time, at the end of a failed “money time”. A recurring problem for Kawhi Leonard’s teammates showing up a record of 10 wins and 12 losses in matches where the difference is less than five points five minutes from time.
