Three passes for the Raptors
Taking advantage of their schedule in particular, with matchups against the very weak Nets and Pacers, Raptors just won three matches in a row – the last against Indiana – and now have a record of 8 wins and 5 losses. And that’s important for the Toronto franchise.
For what? Because it’s the first time since February 1, 2022 that the Canadians have a (positive) record with three matches above 50 percent wins. They will finish this regular season with 48 wins and will play in the first round of the playoffs against Philadelphia.
“It’s been a while”, recognizes Scotty Barnes, who was then living his first season in Canada. “We struggled here in Toronto and I’m happy we’re in this position. But nothing is certain, we still have to fight, stay hungry. Being above 50 percent doesn’t mean anything.”
For now, that means fourth place in the East, behind Detroit, New York etc Clevelandand that is already a good thing after two very complicated seasons. The Raptors thus remain at seven wins in eight matches.
“There are still many things to improve and we are far from perfect, but I want to highlight the way we find solutions during matches”Jakob Poeltl’s insistence. “We didn’t always start matches well, we make mistakes at the start, but we always find, at least in the last eight matches, a way to respond, no matter what the opposing team offers us. We manage to exploit their weaknesses. I like the way we react to other teams’ strategies. We are very good at this. »
The good momentum could continue as the upcoming schedule is very soft, with Charlotte, Philly, Washington and Brooklyn between now and Sunday, November 23rd.
