Thunder’s Jaylen Williams tears up ‘useless stat’ in defense of brother

It can be hard to imagine how bad it is Utah Jazz they could be in for their worst night considering how they just beat the cleveland cavaliers 123-112 on monday night. However, the Jazz have been changing their rotation lately, with Lauri Markkanen and other key players in and out of the lineup in recent games, leading to some major unpredictability — including their A 55-point loss to the Charlotte Hornets back on Saturday.

That 150-95 loss was so brutal that Jazz head coach Will Hardy was simply left frustrated, and one player in particular at another player. Cody Williams ended up making history in terms of personal vanity. Williams, brother of Oklahoma City Thunder star Jalen Williamshe ended up posting the worst single-game plus-minus in NBA history at minus-60.

The Thunder star then came to the defense of his brother, saying that he too had published some historical futility in the plus-minus, during the NBA Finals no lessand yet he won the title – explicitly stating how useless of the stat of the individual game is plus-minus.

“He played well… Let’s point it out, I was -40 and won the Finals, plus minus useless stats,” the Thunder forward wrote in response to an Instagram comment mocking the Jazz sophomore.

Can Cody Williams find himself in the Jazz?

Williams endured a ton of growing pains in his first year and a half in the NBA; the Jazz sophomore struggled so much at times that he wasn’t a major part of the team’s rotation.

Still, he started Monday night in their win over the Cavs (Markkanen and company were active), and he’s been getting more opportunities lately. He still hasn’t made the impact expected of a top-10 pick, but he’s only 21 years old and deserves to be doubted about his role in the league.
