Tim Legler has never seen anything like Draymond Green’s feud with Steve Kerr
Former NBA player Tim Legler explained how rare it is to see a fight like the one we witnessed Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and Draymond Green. Kerr downplayed his argument with Green in the game during his postgame media availability following a 120-97 win against the Orlando Magic.
However, Green’s actions left the crowd only to return to the bench in street clothes are unprecedentedaccording to Legler.
“In the years I’ve played in the league, and in all the years I’ve followed the league, I’ve seen guys get kicked out of huddles. I’ve seen guys get kicked off the bench and sent to the locker room,” Legler said. “I’ve seen guys get kicked out of practice. I’ve never seen a guy get up of his own volition and go to the locker room during a game. I’ve never seen it myself.
“Now, maybe that happened, I don’t know when it happened, certainly not with my eyeballs, I saw it. It’s pretty big for me.”
For Legler, it’s a terrible prospect for Green.
“That’s a pretty big deal. Get away from a team in a five-point game. When your team is a .500 team, all of this matters,” Legler added. And you just get up and leave because you’re like, “oh, I just thought it would be better to cool off and kind of separate myself from the situation,” that’s really uncharted territory in a lot of ways. You don’t see this.”

Would the Warriors Consider Trading Draymond Green?

In an attempt to take over the narrative, the Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said his team needs Draymond Green after a viral exchange between Kerr and Green went viral. It was no surprise, as the Warriors coach has defended the veteran forward in the past.
It’s doubtful the Kerr and Green argument forces the Warriors’ front office to consider a trade, as ESPN’s Tim Legler noted.
“Does this drive them at all when you combine that with some of his offensive issues that he’s had this year, which is a career low point for him? Combined with these things, do the dividends with wins and leadership, all of those things still outweigh all of that?”
Because there was a time, no matter where, no matter what the offense was, it was good enough, and the emotional outbursts – it was okay – because it gave you top game, IQ and defense. Come on, are those things still at that level to make up for the offense, plus this? I think that’s probably true about that point where it feels like almost a wash. So what would they do? I still doubt they would ever do that and remove him.”
The Warriors will host the Mavericks on Christmas Day.
