Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards drops a 6-word message after being ejected on Christmas Day

The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets are done board for Christmas in style, collectively putting on a matchup that seemed best suited for the NBA playoffs. Probably the most underrated rivalry in the game today, every two teams made huge returns and raised their level of play when it mattered most. Anthony Edwards and Nikola Jokić were each unloading their bag of tricks, as they did everything possible to deserve the victory.
However, one of those superstars was unable to finish the game. The Timberwolves’ cornerstone picked up two technical fouls in overtime and was ejected with 20.5 remaining, and his team lost 133-130. Minnesota ended the vacation with a convincing defeat of 142:138. Edwards was unsurprisingly unhappy with his untimely departure, but he doesn’t let the frustration fester for too long.
The two-time All-NBA second teamer, who scored 44 points on 14-of-25 shooting in a tough contest, he made quick use of his shift. He teamed up with one of his sponsorship partners, Sprite, and poked fun at himself in a seemingly impromptu ad.
In the clip below, Edwards writes “I will not stand up” over and over again on a chalkboard, a la high school detention. Say what you will about the 24-year-old guard, but he is certainly a businessman.

Some would channel their anger in another way. Maybe others would just take a diplomatic approach and say nothing. And then there are those who try to turn a negative into a profit.
Anthony Edwards is probably smiling after watching the commercial, but when he and the Timberwolves (20-11) take the court Saturday against the Brooklyn Nets (9-19), fans shouldn’t expect many smiles. Minnesota will likely have a lot of emotions to release.
