Tom Izzo is ashamed of what the NCAA has become
Choice of James Nnaji does nottwo years after being drafted by the Knicks, he’s not just making people happy. Example with legendary Tom IzzoMichigan State coach. For him, this decision will distort everything, and it is a disaster for college basketball.
“So now we’re also taking guys who were drafted into the NBA and it’s working?asked Tom Izzo on Saturday, who had already lost his temper against NCAA return of London Johnson (Louisville) and Thierry Darlan (Santa Clara). “I said it a month and a half ago: let’s take Magic (Johnson) and Gary (Harris). Why not? If this is the direction we’re going, shame on the NCAA. Shame on the coaches. But most of all, shame on the NCAA, because the coaches are going to do what they have to do… But the responsibility is on those who make the decisions in the NCAA. so ridiculous without thinking about the child!
And Tom Izzo cautions that he’s not preaching for his parish but for college basketball as a whole.
“Since everyone says I’m thinking about my university or that I’m being selfish, let me be clear to everyone: I’m thinking about what would be best for my son if he were in this situation.
Having never played in the NBA and his professional experience being limited overseas, the NCAA authorized James Nnaji to return to Baylor to finish his course.
“What we did to the NCAA is a real disaster for me”, continued Tom Izzototally disappointed. “We’re only worried about being sued and we’re not fighting for anything anymore. For me, leadership is about fighting and making decisions that are sometimes unpopular.”
