Tom Thibodeau of the Knicks is clearly looking for NBA refs after the Nets scare

The New York Knickson tuesday night, they were in a second straight set as they visited the brooklyn nets less than 24 hours after they triumphed over the atlanta hawks 119-110. So some fatigue was understandable on their part. Still, the Knicks were expected to win, especially with The Nets look like they’re already set for the 2024-25 season to increase their chances of grabbing the number one overall pick in this year’s draft.

However, there is no such thing in the NBA. The Knicks offense remained neutral in the fourth quarter, and the basket was shut down as the Nets increased their aggression. The Nets steadily chipped away at New York’s double-digit lead in the fourth, even taking the lead at one point. But in the end, Jalen Brunson did enough to keep the Knicks ahead en route to a 99-95 victory.

After the game, the head coach of the Knicks Tom Thibodeau he decried the treatment Brunson received by the officials, especially near the end of the game. He believes he is Brunson more free throws were needed night, as the Knicks star finished with just four free throw attempts on the night (he made two).

“I just want to see the last show in the drive. I send clips, I do everything. What’s happening to him is ridiculous. It really is. I’ll leave it at that,” Thibodeau said via SNI’s Knicks Videos on X (formerly Twitter).

All things Thibodeau we hope for some consistency just so the Knicks can better judge what can and cannot be considered a foul.

“I just want consistency. We attack the basket, I watch KAT go. I watch Jalen leave. There is contact. A foul is a foul. The guy is fouled, you have to say it. That’s your job,” Thibodeau added.

One would think the Knicks might earn more free throws than they do every night; Jalen Brunson is a tricky cover for most running backs in the league, with plenty of baiting tactics up his sleeve, while Karl-Anthony Towns makes a concerted effort to be more bruised presence on the inside.

However, the Knicks are only attempting the 23rd most free throws in the league this season per contest, at 21.1. Maybe Tom Thibodeau is on to something with his complaints.
