Travon Walker jokes about taking Anthony Edwards’ class at Georgia

The The Minnesota Timberwolves won off to a good start to the 2025-26 NBA season, currently at 7-4 after a recent win over the Utah Jazz. Anthony Edwards answered right guard where he left off after missing several games with a hamstring injury, continuing to pile up the stats nightly.

Recently, Jacksonville Jaguars star Travon Walker, who was a football player at the University of Georgia while Edwards was playing basketball there, stopped by the “Third and Long” podcast to reminisce hilarious story about Edwards.

“Man, we had a class together, too. So it’s probably like one of the first two days of class or whatever. I go to class, I see him in class. I’m like, ‘Okay, we’re in the same class or whatever.’ “After this day bro, I don’t know if this should be public or not,” Walker said. “It’s over now. Like, I never saw this man in class again in my college career. I won’t say I went to every class, but I never saw him in any other class.”

Fortunately, Edwards’ basketball talents led to him being the number one overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft (while Walker became the number one pick in the 2022 NFL Draft), and the rest is history.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been able to largely hold down the fort in Edwards’ recent absence and are now hoping to make a run in the Western Conference standings now that he’s back and healthy.

Edwards has shown improved playmaking instincts this year, which is especially important now that Mike Conley is coming off the bench, but of course he still continues to drive the ball to the basket on absurd snaps.

Either way, the Timberwolves will next take the court on Friday night at home against the Sacramento Kings.
