Trophies of the month | Victor Wembanyama was named the best defender in the West
While franchises are on the phone to trade, NBA don’t forget your trophies of the month. And as usual, the Big League releases its entire barrage of awards on the same day.
That’s how it started with “beginners of the month”. And for January, as was already the case for October/November, then for December, Cooper Flagg (Dallas) and Knuppel could (Charlotte) are nominated!
Then the NBA revealed its “Defenders of the Month” and it was Victor Vembanyama (San Antonio) who wins in the West while Ausar Thompson (Detroit) which follows it in the East.
This is also the second time “Wemby” has won this trophy, having already won it for October/November 2024.
As for the “Player of the Month”, they are Luka Dončić (LA Lakers) and Jailen Brown (Boston) who were elected.
