Tumani Kamara signed an $82 million contract extension

The The Portland Trail Blazers are ready to go in the 2025-26 season with a home opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With the new campaign just around the corner, the franchise appears to be locking up one of its young stars for the long haul as Toumani Camara signs a new contract extension.
Reports indicate that Camara, who is 25, has agreed to a four-year, $82 million rookie contract extension with the Trail Blazers, according to ESPN’s Shams Charani. The front office seemingly views the former second-round pick as a key piece of the roster.
“Portland Trail Blazers guard Toumani Kamara has agreed to a four-year, $82 million contract extension with the franchise, agent Dave Pateri tells ESPN. Kamara has blossomed into a vital and durable two-way player after being selected 52nd overall in the 2023 NBA Draft.”
Kamara is entering his third year in the NBA. He is ready for a starting role after slowly increasing his playing time over the past two seasons. His efforts in the 2024-25 campaign earned him a spot on the NBA’s All-Defensive Second Team.
Tumani Karama finished last season averaging 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game while shooting 45.8% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point line. Portland will be hoping they can improve on those numbers this season as the club hopes to be more competitive going forward.
The Trail Blazers will take over Timberwolves on October 22. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST on Wednesday night. Tumani Kamara recently left the final preseason game with knee soreness and is considered day-to-day.
