Ty Lue reacts to Mavericks’ Nick Harrison firing

The Dallas Mavericks made a move that most people expected from them for a long time, firing controversial GM Nick Harrison. After the trade of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, Harrison became deeply unpopular. This eventually led to the CEO being fined.
Los Angeles Clippers Harrison’s head coach and friend Ty Lue reacted to the Mavericks’ decision. That’s what the coach said it was unfortunate that Harrison was releasedand that some things in life just aren’t fair.
“He’s a good friend of mine,” Lue said, per Mike Curtis . “I respect Nick and everything he’s done for me… It’s unfortunate. He’s a great guy. It’s part of the job, and a lot of things happen that aren’t fair.”
The Clippers played the Mavericks last night. Both teams struggled coming into the game, Los Angeles had just four wins and Dallas had three. James Harden erupted for a triple-double of 41 points with 11 assists and 14 rebounds, but it almost wasn’t enough as they needed overtime to slow the Mavericks.
Before the Clippers game, the Mavericks fired Harrison. Many point to the Luka Doncic trade as the primary reason Dallas released Harrison. While that’s the most obvious reason, Harrison’s bitter attitude toward the trade and his subsequent offseason moves were the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The Clippers, on the other hand, have struggled to find consistency this season. They are looking to get back to the playoffs after a quick exit last season.
