Tyler Hero’s injury expected to return ‘in the coming days’
With Miami Heat after the All-Star break with Thursday afternoon’s practice, a familiar face is expected to return that could turn the season around. As it is The Heat are in the midst of an inconsistent seasonit was also a year filled with questions about what the team’s ceiling actually is with a slew of injuries, especially to the stars Tyler Herro.
Hero missed the last 15 games with what Miami described as a “right costochondral; rib injury,” as more information about the injury came out via the Miami Herald. After suffering the injury in the team’s Jan. 10 loss to the Indiana Pacers, Hero played the next three games on Toradol shots, but an MRI revealed the severity of the injury.
Fast forward to the present, Herro’s return to gaming seems inevitable, or in the words of Anthony Chang, “in the coming days.”
“According to a league source, Hero is recovering from three broken ribs after suffering a clipped rib fracture,” Chang wrote.
“But Hero will be back soon as he is expected to take part in training on Thursday and is expected to return to action in the coming days, barring a setback,” Chang continued.
Heat’s Tyler Hero has “determination” to see him through a challenging season

While it is the timeline surrounding the Heat guard was unclear for a while it was no doubt a frustrating season for Hero, who, in addition to missing the last 15 games, missed a total of 45 games this season out of 56. He sat out the first 17 games of the season due to offseason ankle surgery, as he would then miss 13 contests with a toe injury, followed by a rib injury.
It was a challenge for Herro, but he has “solve” to go through everything, as the head coach Erik Spoelstra echoed at ClutchPoints on January 31st.
“The one thing I know about Tyler after spending so many years with him is that he’s determined. He’s got grit. He fights and focuses on the things he can control. … I’ve always admired that quality in him,” Spoelstra said.
No updates on Herr, but I would ask Erik Spoelstra about the disappointment of missing close to 40 games with a myriad of injuries.

If anything is certain, Miami could take advantage of Hero’s offense with a 29-27 team, putting them in eighth place in the East. Hero could return to the Heat on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks or on Saturday when the team hosts the Memphis Grizzlies.
