Tyrese Halliburton catches John Cena’s final WWE match on SNME

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Halliburton he may have been taken out of NBA action, but he was still front and center for one of the the most emotional moments in sports entertainment this weekend.
Halliburton attended John Cena’s last WWE match in the main event Saturday night in Washington, D.C., watching alongside his father as the legendary wrestler closes the book on a historic career.
Cena’s farewell match was against Gunther, and the WWE icon put his body on the line one last time in front of a packed Capital One Arena.
Cena bravely led the match and the night, but a moment that stunned fansand Halliburton, came when he eventually emerged from Gunter’s sleeper hold, in his final appearance, with Halliburton a visible reaction reflecting shock felt in the whole arena.

Cena retires as one of the most decorated performers in WWE history, and his influence has extended far beyond wrestling, recognizing multi-sport athletesincluding Pacers star Halliburton, who is also a lifelong VVE fan.
Halliburton’s presence at the event comes as he continues his recovery from a torn Achilles injured in Game 7 of 2025 NBA Finals Injury will keep 25-year-old guard out likely for the entire 2025-26 NBA seasonand there is no official timetable for his return.
Still, his rehab progress has drawn attention, especially after he dunked during a recent practice. That moment even caught Cena’s eyewho reposted the clip on X, formerly Twitter, with the hashtag “Never Give Up,” publicly showing support for the Pacers star.
The relationship between Halliburton and Cena grew over time. The two developed a friendly relationship, which he pointed out Halliburton’s performance at SummerSlam in August, where Cena playfully taunted him and even grabbed one of his crutches during one segment.
While Halliburton remains out of uniform, his energy hasn’t faded. He is still vocal on the team and visible in important moments, whether on the court or at ringside.
