Tyrese Maxey earns a big complement from Doug Collins

Tyrese McKay has blossomed into a legitimate superstar in the NBA, as Philadelphia 76ersInjury problems over the past few years have paved the way for him to take the reigns as the team’s best player. Maxey is doing his best to steady the boat for the 76ers, especially with Joel Embiid and Paul George currently sidelined, and at this point it’s not his fault that Philly just couldn’t compete on some nights — including Tuesday in the middle against the San Antonio Spurs.

Either way, Maxi has earned himself millions of fans with the way he carries himself with a heavy workload on a daily basis, while remaining as productive as ever despite facing all the defensive attention in the world. And maybe it doesn’t exist a bigger fan from 76ers star from former 76ers quarterback and head coach Doug Collins.

“Tirese McKay is my favorite player in the NBA. I hope these Philly fans know they have a star star. His personality, his performance, his smile, the joy he plays the game with. I just think it’s such a huge thing for this city of Philly and he has a great assistant right now in VJ Edges against VJ Edgescombe’s team,” said the club’s predecessor VJ Edgescombe. on Tuesday, via NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The 76ers are stuck in two timelines

The 76ers worked hard to keep the pick that ended up being VJ Edgecombe, and now they have a masterful backcourt to build a team around. The problem, however, is that there is so much lingering uncertainty over Embiid’s healthand George’s drug suspension cast another cloud over the team.

Either way, the 76ers can at least rebound in a rebuild around Maxey and Edgecomb if Embiid and George end up disappearing entirely.
