Tyrese Maxey of the 76ers becomes the newest NBA star with a signature sneaker

After winning ‘Best Player’ in 2024 and now pushing for ‘Most Valuable Player’ in 25-26, Philadelphia 76ers‘ Tyrese McKay will join another elite club during his sixth NBA season. After forging his own path and signing with sponsor New Balance, Tyrese McKay will become one of 26 players with a stand-alone signature sneaker model.

Mackey first signed an endorsement deal with New Balance back in 2023, favoring sneakers like New Balance TVO VXI in several exclusive editions for players made for the Sixers guard. Maxi joins other big names like Kawhi Leonard of the Clippers, Jamal Murray of the Nuggets and Cooper Flagg of the Mavericks representing New Balance Basketball, a growing core that has lit up the league over the years.

New Balance recently confirmed Makey’s upcoming signature sneaker, which is expected to release by the end of 2026 as the latest addition to the New Balance basketball lineup.

Details surrounding the model’s concept and design are still being kept under wraps, but given Makey’s previous history with the New Balance TVO VXI and Hesi Low V2, we can expect his signature model to be in a low silhouette as well. Given Makey’s explosive game and ability to start and stop on a dime, we can also expect a midsole and cushioning that offers maximum energy return while remaining comfortable.

Aside from the anticipated time frame before the end of the year, we’ll continue to patiently wait for any new developments or images of the upcoming sneaker. As for Maxey, he is third in the NBA in scoring (30.1 PPG) and has the 76ers in fifth place in the Eastern Conference along with the All-Star Game, so expect another exciting half of the season from this rising superstar.
