Vegas is dealing with new health concerns due to Mark Stone’s injury

With 22 games left in the season, The Vegas Golden Knights are still there leads the Pacific Division with 70 points. Their recent form, however, has not been very good. They’ve lost seven of their last 10 games (two of which were overtime losses), and it won’t help that they had a depleted roster, thanks to injuries and some fallout from the Winter Olympics.

Ahead of their Tuesday night clash against the Buffalo Sabres, Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy said yes Mark Stone is currently “day-to-day” with an upper-body injury, according to Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The good news is that Cassidy hasn’t completely ruled the veteran out of potential action against the Sabres, but there’s little reason to risk Stone’s health if he’s not healthy enough to play.

Just to add to the Golden Knights’ concerns, Cassidy also noted that there was some sort of bug going on in the locker room, with Shea Theodore, Mitch Marner and another player dealing with some sort of “illness.”

The The Golden Knights should err on the side of cautionbut not too much considering they need to get back to winning ways with the Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken and Edmonton Oilers breathing down their necks.

Golden Knights fans feel as though the team is dealing with the illness of its players returning from their Winter Olympics commitments.

“FVIV, I was told that MacKinnon and another player were pretty sick towards the end of the Olympics. The loss sucks, but he looked white as a ghost during the medal presentation,” X user @NateInVegas wrote.

“Verensky is also out tonight, sick,” @pugsoverhumans he added.

“Theodore and Marner represented Canada at the Olympics. Your regular reminder that the NHL has stopped reporting Covid cases and outbreaks after the 2021-22 season,” @InspiredAkuaCA further.
