Vic Schaefer demolishes Rory Harmon’s idea

Texas women’s basketball suffered a heavy defeat v. Vanderbilt, i head coach Vic Schaefer was not pleased how the team played. During the game, he made the decision to sit Rory Harmon for the last 15 minutes and play Brian Preston instead. After the game, a reporter simply asked why he took Harmon.
Schaefer he was not a fan questions.
“You have to stop standing on the bench,” Schaefer said. “This is a game, and it’s basketball. You make substitutions, so it’s not a bench. I just mentioned earlier when I traded Bry for Rory at LSU. It’s not a bench. If she’s not playing on Sunday, you can come to me with a bench.

“When you put someone in and they play well, you don’t take them out. It happened at LSU, it happened again tonight. I’m going to change the starting lineup to find some heart in our team. I’m not talking about that particular replacement, I’m just talking about my team.”
Schaefer tried to find anything he could from his team at this point, but to no avail.
“We have no heart,” Schaefer said. “We’re not tight. It’s probably the softest team I’ve had in years.”
Schaefer obviously wants to win those types of games against other top teams, but right now his team doesn’t seem ready. A setback like he had could turn the team around, and hopefully they can figure that out sooner rather than later.
