Victor Vembanyama’s Euro Step Slam would make Giannis jealous

When it comes to San Antonio Spurs star Victor Vembanyamathe possibilities on the basketball court are endless. He does many things it would explode the heads of people who have never watched basketball in five years.
Vembanjama was back again on Wednesday night as the Spurs visited Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers at Cripto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
During the third period, Wembanyama brought the ball down the stretch with excellent ball handling for a man his size (NBA.com lists him at 7’4″) and then started to attack the basket.
After a dunk by Lakers big man Deandre Ayton, Vembanjama saw Doncic standing between him and the rim. Vembanjama could only use his length to put the ball over Doncic. Instead, he went for the euro step, because why not? He got more powerful finish by nailing itbut he also did it in a much more graceful way.

Indeed, Vembanjama is a special basketball specimen that the Spurs are lucky to have on their roster.
The entire sequence also further emphasizes how special Wemby is. Ayton had to go all the way and pick up Vembanyama even before the half-court line, as Wemby was already a threat, given his ability to get the ball down the floor and shoot it from the perimeter. At the same time, it robbed the Lakers of their best rim protector near the basket, leaving non-blockers like Doncic as emergency stoppers.
However, Vembanyama and the Spurs suffered a 118-116 loss to the Lakers. The top pick in the 2023 NBA draft collected 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
San Antonio will look to bounce back from their loss to the Lakers and snap a three-game skid when the Spurs host the Houston Rockets this Friday.
