Victor Wembanyama gets ‘ridiculous’ praise from Jayson Tatum

Victor Vembanyama is on track to eventually become the best player in the NBA. It’s only a matter of time. His presence in San Antonio has done wonders for this already successful organization. From David Robinson to Tim Duncan to Kawhi Leonard to Webby, the Spurs always land superstar talent.

Wemney helped lead the team this season, but only played 33 games. The Spurs weren’t completely healthy, and Vembanyama’s health gave them some additional hurdles. Despite this, the Spurs are second in the Western Conference at 32-15. They are 5.5 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum watched Wembley and Spurs while recovering from a torn Achilles. He praised Wemby in the latest episode of The Pivot.

“Watching him every night that I can and seeing him in person is just ridiculous. I don’t even know how else to put it. … He’s still figuring himself out. … The things that he’s able to do, we’ve never seen that.”

Vembanjama claimed 1-of-1 after an away win against the Houston Rockets. He scored 28 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked five shots in 29 minutes.

The 7-foot-4 superstar is averaging 24.3 points per game, which is 18th in the NBA. He is fourth in rebounding with 11.2 per game, 32nd in field goal percentage with 50.6%, and first in blocks with 2.7.

San Antonio has a few nights off before they face the Charlotte Hornets on the road Saturday afternoon on Prime Video. They return home against the Orlando Magic on Sunday.
