Victor Wembanyama lobs Stephon Castle against the Rockets

Victor Vembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs asked for revenge against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets when they faced off again at the Toyota Center on Wednesday.

The Rockets beat the Spurs at home last week, 111-106, and Vembanyama was held to just 14 points on a terrible 5-of-21 shooting from the field.

In the second quarter, Vembanyama showed the Rockets that he wasn’t messing around. After he stole the ball, the Spurs went on a break. Stephen Castle he lobbed perfectly to Vembanyama, who threw down with authority.

The end-to-end highlight definitely got San Antonio’s bullpen going.

Seriously, how can you even stop it?

The Spurs, however, still trailed the Rockets at halftime, 62-54.

The duo of Vembanyama and Castle will be a problem for years to come. They continue to learn and develop their chemistry, and when they figure it out, good luck to the rest of the NBA.

Coach Mitch Johnson has encouraged his two young stars to use their own style, giving them more freedom, even if it means being erratic at times. As long as 22-year-old Vembanyama avoids injuryhis relationship with 21-year-old Castle will only get more deadly.
