VJ Edgecombe scored 3 points in a thriller against the Grizzlies

In such a good game, it took more than 48 minutes to decide the winner Philadelphia 76ers they all found themselves tied to 136-all against the Memphis Grizzlies with just 18.3 seconds left.
After a bit of confusion about where they could inbound the ball, which ruled Tyrese Maxey unable to take the ball from the 76ers sideline, Philadelphia did its best to find a good shot against a Grizzlies team that didn’t play much defense in regulation.
With defenders collapsing on Maxi, the ball eventually found its way into the rookie’s hands in the first round VJ Edgecombewho without hesitation threw him behind the arch, deep linking 3 to give Philadelphia a three-point lead with just 1.7 seconds left in overtime.
In a game that was largely defined by the strong play of Philadelphia’s big three, with MVP candidate Maxey posting 34 on 21 shooting, Joel Embiid matching him on seven more attempts, and Paul George rounding things out with 17 points on 17 shots, his sixth-highest point total of the season so far, it was Edgecomb who consistently came up big for his team. In 41 minutes of action, Edgecombe connected on 10 of his 21 shots, scoring 25 points with four steals, six rebounds and four assists.
Is the 76ers’ Big 3 really the Big 4? Financially, no, but on the field it could be argued that Edgecomb was Philly’s third-best player when everyone is healthy, a pretty impressive feat for a rookie who won’t be able to hit the bullpen until the summer of 2026.
