VJ Edgecombe stuns Warriors with cool game-winner
VJ Edgecombe came through in the clutch as he gifted the fans with a game-winning shot in Philly The match between the 76ers and the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
Edgecombe is coming off the rookie season of his NBA career. He shined as a full-time starter, providing consistent production on both sides of the ball while developing chemistry with star teammate Tyrese Maxey in the backfield.
They were ready for a big match at home, hosting the Warriors. Even though Stephen Curry was out with an injury, Philadelphia knew they weren’t going to easily defeat an experienced Golden State team.
The Warriors rallied as they took the game down to the wire. In the final seconds of the game, Maxi had the ball in his hands while shooting. It was unsuccessful but Edgecombe reacted brilliantly to secure the ball and set it up, throwing it off the glass as he entered. That gave Philadelphia its final lead of the game, giving the home fans a thrilling victory.
