Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will sign with the Angels, the former player predicts

Guerrero Jr Los Angeles would be eerily similar to his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr.’s, free agent path. The Hall of Famer left the Montreal Expos to join the Angels in the early 2000s and had a very successful tenure in Los Angeles. Vladdi has become one of the best in the majors at his position and has the ability to be an MVP like his father. Would leaving Toronto for Southern California help him take the next step in his career? Come next off-season, it could certainly happen.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the Angels could be a good pairing next winter

2024 was the best season that Guerrero is younger since his A mammoth campaign in 2021. The timing was excellent, as he compiled a VAR of 6.2. His .323 batting average was excellent, and he had 30 home runs and 103 RBIs to go along with that mark. If he has 2025 as his 2024, then Vladdi will be in line for a pretty big raise. Would the Angels, led by GM Perry Minasian, be the team to give him that raise?

Angels owner Arte Moreno has given away big deals in the past, but it’s been a few years since he splashed out on the free agent market. That expense? Third baseman Anthony Rendon, who signed a seven-year contract with the team after the 2019 season. That signing may have been the worst contract in team history and went down as one of the worst in MLB history. After that colossal setback, he would have given big money Pact Guerrero Jr. really be the best idea?

For Los Angeles it would be. Especially if Vladdi is up to it his highlights in 2021 and last season. He would be the best lineup partner Mike Trout has had since Shohei Ohtani left for the Dodgers across town. He would once again follow in his father’s footsteps. Furthermore, Guerrero Jr.’s star would shine brighter in Los Angeles, and one could argue that the postseason just means more there. For a man chasing immortality like his father once did, wouldn’t the biggest stage possible beckon him home? It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise.
