Watch as Franz Wagner receives a warm welcome from Orlando fans

The Orlando Magic they’re finally starting to look like themselves again, and the atmosphere at the Kia Center is unlike anything we’ve seen in months. After a busy season marked by absences caused by injuries, star striker Franz Wagner made his long-awaited return to action Monday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The crowd was ready for it, and the moment the announcer called his name for his first introduction, the arena erupted into a standing ovation that made one thing clear: Orlando had missed his “Only Franz.”

Wagner was on the sidelines for the last nine games and 25 of the previous 27 contests with a nagging high ankle sprain. While he is appeared briefly during the team’s international trip in mid-January, he was clearly not himself and had to be shut down again.
His return on Monday marked the first time the Orlando Magic have had their preferred starting lineup fully available in more than 400 days. Coach Jamahl Mosley was retained Wagner on the strict minutes limit tonight to ensure a safe transition, but his presence alone completely changed the team’s space and energy.
As the game moves into the second half, the Magic are firmly in control. Franz Wagner has already made an impact in the limited series, recording 12 points, three rebounds and two assists.
His ability to drive and shoot opened up huge lanes for Desmond Bain, who put on an absolute clinic. Bane is currently leading the way with a dominant 20 points and two rebounds as Orlando holds an 87-74 lead late in the third quarter.
The Milwaukee Bucks are struggling to find an answer without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is currently sidelined with a calf strain. For Orlando, the lead is great, but seeing Wagner back on the hardwood is a real win. If they can pull this off, they’ll extend their winning streak to four and head into the All-Star break with a huge boost in confidence.
