Watch Paul George make the first bucket in his 16-year-old debut against the Clippers

The Philadelphia 76ers received an additional boost by returning from Paul George on Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

George made his debut after recovering from a knee injurywhich limited him to just 41 games last season, as he missed the final six weeks of the campaign.

He was in the starting lineup against the Clippers and immediately announced his return hitting a triple just seconds from the start of the competition, prompting loud cheers from the crowd.

It must have been a good feeling for the 35-year-old forward to see the ball go into the hoop after being sidelined since July. George has been hampered by injuries for most of his career, and fans could only hope that he would stay healthy until the end of the campaign.

George signed a four-year contract worth a whopping $212 million with the 76ers last season. Many criticized the move due to the supposed decline of the All-Star game. He averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals before injuring his knee.

When fully healthy, George is still a reliable two-way player. He remains one of the smoother shooters in the NBA and a strong one-on-one defender. It is also reliable in the clutch.

The 76ers, who are currently 7-5, are expected to slowly reintegrate George into the system, with Tirese McKay and VJ Edgecombe are already hosting the show. Joel Embiid, meanwhile, is under load control.

As of this writing, the Clippers are leading the Sixers in the third quarter.
