Watch Victor Wembanyama dominate the Heat in a two-way sequence

It was the second one big game for the San Antonio Spurs, as they beat the Miami Heat 107-101 to improve to 5-0 and remain undefeated. One of the biggest highlights of the game was Vembanjama Spurs delivering an absurd sequence on either end of the floor, flooding the heat, as shown in a video posted to X by Keith Smith, a contributor to the Front Office Show.

“The whole sequence is absurd. What are you supposed to do with this? We’re looking at a generational talent and it’s still nowhere near fully formed,” Smith wrote on X.

The play started on the defensive end, where the Heat’s Davion Mitchell went for a left-handed layup. Out of nowhere, Vembanyama rose from the floor and blocked the shot with his right hand while seemingly palming the basketball. Then Vembanyama dribbled the basketball all the way to half court and hit a jumper to give the Spurs a 106-95 lead, giving the momentum a one-man play.

Vembanjama has already earned widespread praise from the media and the NBA. With this win, the Spurs set the franchise record for most wins in a season opener, and he was at the center of it. While it is The heat tried to restrain Vembanyama, it wasn’t enough, as the third-year star finished with 27 points on 10-of-23 shooting, 18 rebounds and five blocks.

Vembanjama is off to a great start this season, averaging 30.2 points and 14.6 rebounds per game while shooting 56.3 percent from the field. After all, he dominated on both ends of the floor while also helping his teammates get better, which is part of the reason for their 5-0 start.

Few people believe in The Spurs can contend with the Rockets. They currently lead the Southwest Division at 5-0, two full games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and 2 1/2 games ahead of the Rockets. While they sit atop the division, a game with the Phoenix Suns is next on their schedule, followed by a trip to Southern California to face the Los Angeles Lakers. When they return home next Friday, they host the Rockets.
