When will Draymond Green retire? The Dubs star gives an honest answer
As Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors set out to win another championship three years removed from a dynasty that culminated in four titles in eight seasons, when will they retire? It is difficult to determine. Green responded to Kevin Durant for the takeover regarding the importance of defending a team with championship aspirations, the size of which Draymond believes he can still compete.
He turns 36 in March. In the midst of his 14th season with the Warriors, Green can’t say when they will hang himbecause the end of his career is not in sight, he said, according to Sam Amico from Athletic.
“I don’t know what the exact number is, but I do know that I still enjoy a lot of what comes with this. And as long as I enjoy it, and I can go through that process and give what I need to give to be at an elite level, I still don’t see a reason to tie my shoes and throw them over a telephone line,” Green said. “I still enjoy it too much. And I’m healthy. So you add enjoyment to health, and those two things can make it harder (to leave).”
As a seasoned veteran, Green feels remarkable and proud of holding his own in the league
“I’m in a space where I can fully look at this through one lens, which is ‘What’s basketball like?’ That’s what I give, competition on a nightly basis. Going there, how do I feel mentally and physically? All of those things are still very much intact. So that’s the only lens I have to look through right now.”
How Draymond Green hit back at the Rockets’ Kevin Durant

Warriors veteran Draymond Green fired back at Rockets All-Star Kevin Durant saying offense is more important than defense. Green’s frustration with the Warriors’ defensive approach in a loss to the Bucks without All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo recently drove him crazy.
For Green, the defensive end of the ball is where he makes his presence felt the most and takes responsibility for the Warriors’ defensive mistakes.
“I think when you look at any team that’s won a championship, they’ve had a great defense. And if you look at most teams that couldn’t get over the hump, a lot of times it’s (because) they couldn’t get stops,” Green said. “That fact still remains, and I don’t think those who don’t believe that don’t win. It’s very simple.”
The Warriors will host the Suns on Tuesday.
