Why DeMarcus Cousins is buying all the OKC hype

Cousins went on to acknowledge how several other players, including Victor Vembanyama and Anthony Edwards, have started their campaigns with huge nights. However, Shai was already a level above.
“To go into your first two games, back-to-back games, double overtime, win both games. I mean, what’s his average right now? About 50 a game? This kid is unbelievable,” Cousins explained.
However, the New York Knicks legend is aware that winning another championship won’t depend on just one player.
“And the scary part about this whole OKC team is that they’re young and they’re going to keep getting better, besides being champions already,” he said, going on to talk about how the Thunder can create a dynasty of their own in the coming years.
Cousins talked about how even in Jaylin Williams’ absence, players like Aaron Wiggins have stepped up.
“I think this team can start a dynasty. I don’t think as far as Golden State is concerned.. I definitely got a reaction, but I think this team has a chance to start a little dynasty. And obviously the head of the snake is Shai,” he concluded.
The Thunder have undoubtedly started the season in exactly the same way they concluded the 2024-25 campaign. They will now take on the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena.
