Why did Stacey King scream ‘Elizabeth’ after the winner Nikola Vucevic

Recently, the The Chicago Bulls have improved to 6-1 in the fledgling 2025-26 NBA season with a thrilling home win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. While trailing by as many as 24 points at one point, they hung on and eventually pulled the game out of the fire thanks to a winner by Nikola Vucevic.

One thing that had people buzzing on social media was commentator and former Bulls player Stacey King’s call for the final shot, often referring to “Elizabeth” in her monologue.

After the game, King went to X on express your enthusiasmas well as show footage from Sanford and Son, where the reference comes from.

“Had another one tonight Elizabeth!! What a heck of a game! Down 24 didn’t fold and outscored the Sixers in the 2nd half. Tried to tell you this is a different team than in the past! Great team chemistry, different guy every night and probably the deepest team in the NBA this year!! Conference!!” wrote the King.

While many would disagree with the “deepest team in the NBA” claim, the Bulls have undoubtedly been the biggest surprise of the early NBA season, and their fans are excited for the first time in a while.

Are the Bulls legit?

Amidst the Bulls’ hot start, many have pointed to the borderline incredible luck Chicago has had as their opponents have missed open and wide-open three-point attempts, which has been attributed in large part to their success.

While that certainly played a big role, the Bulls also saw some All-Star games from Josh Giddy and continued the rise of Matas Bouzelis in his second year in the NBA. That, combined with a cast of players who can do multiple things on the floor, has resulted in the Bulls performing well above expectations this year.

The Bulls will next take the floor Friday night when they host the Milwaukee Bucks.
