Why the Warriors’ Steve Kerr “hates” what’s going on with Stephen Curry

Golden State The warriors won a great victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road, beating them 116-115. Stephen Curry he pulled on his cape once again in the final minutes of the game and led the team to victory, hitting a big 3-pointer to put them ahead. He finished the game with 31 points and shot 7-for-12 from the field, and the biggest thing is that he played 37 minutes.

Head coach Steve Kerr tried to keep Curry’s minutes this season, but in order to win a game, they needed him for an extended period.

“I hate to see his minutes go up,” Kerr said after the game. “I don’t like it.” But we have to do what we have to do. Hopefully as we get reinforcements we can get him down to that 32 range, but tonight we had to let him rip and he has a couple of days before the next game. It was important to win and we did.”

Curry probably doesn’t mind the increased minutes, but the Warriors want to keep him fresh during the season. Curry’s minutes will certainly be reduced once they’re back healthy, but it’s good to know he can still play heavy minutes when needed.

There’s been a lot of talk about the Warriors and them quitting, and that’s just not true according to the players and Steve Kerr. Some think the team should want to make a trade so they can get better, but they won’t sacrifice their future to do such a thing. after the game Curry talked about how the focus is is about winning games and not trying to reorganize the roster.

“Obviously, what I’m talking about, Draymond has talked about, Steve has talked about,” Curry said. “You’re forgetting the part where we’re always trying to get better.” What does that actually mean? It’s obviously not our job to worry about that on a daily basis. But our job is to win as many games as possible and fortunately we have one tonight.”

The Warriors may not have the talent they used to have so they can stay ultra-competitive and win a lot of games, but they have the talent to go out and still win. As long as Curry is on the team, they will always have a chance to win.
