Will Trae Young be fined for throwing out right before his debut in Washington?
Although Trae Young has yet to play a game for the Wizardshuh was thrown out during last night’s loss to the Rockets with 123-118. Late in the third quarter of the game, Jamir Watkins and Tarry Eason briefly collided at the hat, leading to a game stoppage. Although Young did not get involved in the fight, he walked onto the court while it was happening, which led to his ejection.

While ejections do happen from time to time and are used both as punishment and as a deterrent to prevent a situation from escalating, it’s not every night that an inactive player gets ejected. It’s also rare for a player who didn’t fit the team to be dropped. As a result, questions arose as to whether Young would be punished for the ejection. “I have been told that no further discipline is expected from the league office for Washington’s Trae Young following his ejection from Monday night’s game against Houston for ‘running onto the field,'” Stein said. He added that Young’s long-awaited debut as a member of the Wizards will come Thursday when the team takes on the Utah Jazz.
Young has played in just 10 games this season due to injury, but is averaging 19.3 points and 8.9 assists with one steal per game.
