Will Ty Jerome make his season debut against the Pelicans? Latest injury update

As the fans have been waiting for injury update for Memphis Grizzlies guard Ty Jeromewho has yet to play in a regular season game for the team, his next chance comes Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans. With Jerome asks to arrive his full potential with the Grizzlies, not yet shown due to right calf strain, although recent events suggest he is probably close to returning.

Jerome’s status for the Grizzlies does not look good for Friday’s status in New Orleans, as he is listed as “suspicious” for the contest, which comes after being marked as questionable with calf strain. The game is the first of a series that continues tomorrow, where the team returns home to host the Minnesota Timberwolves, which could be part of its missed Friday game.

Jerome seems close though, as discussed last week by the head coach Tuomas Iisaloand The Commercial Appeal notes that the 28-year-old’s return is a week or two away.

“He’s already progressed to 5-on-5 live,” Iisalo said. “So we’re very close. I think the estimate is somewhere within a week or two, something like this. He still has to work up a little bit before the actual games. But he’s doing great. He’s progressing really well and he’s in good spirits.”

Jerome he would even record the exercise with the Grizzlies’ G League affiliate the Memphis Hustle, which is a positive sign.

“Jerome had a workout with Hustle on Wednesday before being recalled to the NBA, an encouraging sign that he could soon make his season debut,” CBS Sports wrote.

It remains to be seen when he will officially return, but when asked if Ty Jerome plays tonight against the Pelicans, the answer is probably no.
