Wizards, Suns, Bulls linked to Domantas Sabonis trade again, but there’s a catch
Although it is Sacramento Kings are reportedly open for business months before this season’s NBA trade deadline, Domantas Sabonis is considered untouchable in trade negotiations. However, teams including the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns have shown interest.
While Sabonis is at least a striker three teams would like to see playing in their uniforms, he remains part of the Kings’ foreseeable future, according to The Athletic’s Sam Amick.
“Teams like Washington, Phoenix Suns and Chicago have shown significant interest in the past and are still believed to be on his short list of potential suitors, but Sabonis is set to remain with the Kings for the foreseeable future,” Amick said. “He has been out since Nov. 19 with a partial tear in his left meniscus and was scheduled to be re-evaluated within the next week.”
As far as Sabonis’ camp is concerned, patience is a virtue as he takes things day by day with the Kings due to injury setbacks.
“As for Sabonis, league sources say the 29-year-old big man has heeded that call for patience. His contract runs through the 2027-28 season, with a combined $94 million owed over the next two seasons, meaning his market is inevitably limited by the amount of money owed,” notes Amick.
The Kings lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-103 on Sunday.
Camp Domantas Sabonis sends a trading signal

While the NBA trade crowd around Domantas Sabonis and Kraljevo Down the line, it appears to only be from teams calling to inquire about their chances, but the likelihood is still slim. According to a source close to the situation, Sabonis and the Kings are happy with how things are going, according to Sam Amick of the Athletics confirmedper FanDuel TV’s Run it Back.
“I talked to his camp recently. It doesn’t sound like they expect to be moved at the deadline,” Amick said. “It’s more of a message of patience. And he really likes living in that area, and as far as the quality of life, it’s good.”
The Kings will face the Trail Blazers on Thursday.
