Wolves are hopelessly complacent
Complacency continues to play nasty tricks on the Wolves, capable of dominate the Knicks or the Thunder, but also to lose twice against the Pelicans or at home against the Nets like last night. A mostly avoidable defeat that would only be due to disrespecting the opponent.
“They crushed us in every area”, summed up by Chris Finch. “Recognizing that we have a problem is already the first step. But if you’re really clear-headed, then do something about it.”
Anthony Edwards doesn’t understand…
Facing the Nets who play without a complex, the Wolves took the match from the wrong end, and their crowd made them understand to the point of booing them!
“I agree with the fans, I would boo us too”admitted Anthony Edwards, the author of 28 points. “ There was a lack of energy… I don’t know what’s going on. I guess it’s just Wolves basketball. Something has to change. But I don’t know what…”
A statement full of meaning, which found no contradiction in the dressing room. All the players and staff emphasized the same thing: a team capable of the best and the worst, sometimes night after night.
It is difficult to admit and understand when we remember the speeches and ambitions before the season.
“We want to be champions”repeats Rudy Gobert. “For champions, it’s not who the opponent is, it’s who you are. You play every night to set the tone and define your identity. That’s what Oklahoma City does very well.” And the Wolves are doing very badly…
