Would Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant Trade Both Feasible?
The Minnesota Timberwolves are preparing for an emergency trade before the Feb. 5 deadline, if their move to shed Mike Conley’s salary to the Chicago Bulls is any indication. This gives them extra room under the apron to make a blockbuster trade, with The Timberwolves set their sights on the best available player on the market, the star of the Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo.
However, it would take a king’s ransom to pry Antetokounmpo away from the Bucks, and it’s not entirely clear if the price for the 2021 NBA Finals MVP. something the Timberwolves can measure up to. If their pursuit of Antetokounmpo falls through, they may revisit a potential trade to address their point guard woes — with Ja Morant looking more likely than ever to be traded after Jaren Jackson Jr.’s move to Utah.
Considering the assets the Timberwolves have or the potential they can acquire for Jaden McDaniels, Julius Randle, Naz Reed and Donte DiVincenzo, no one can rule out big deadline change for Minnesota, according to ClutchPoints NBA Insider Brett Siegel.

For a moment, it looked like the Timberwolves’ pursuit of Antetokounmpo would be nothing more than a pipe dream. But with McDaniels available, it’s more realistic than ever for Minnesota to land the two-time MVP via trade.
