WWE News: ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin Addresses Wrestling Again: ‘Never Say Never’

A member of the WWE Hall of Fame and arguably the standard bearer of the Attitude Era, “Stone Cold” by Steve Austin61, believes he has the potential for another match.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Austin opened up about his the desire to play another gamealthough the chances are unlikely. His last match was in WrestleMania 38 vs. Kevin Owens.
Having undergone knee replacement surgery, Austin opened up about Insight and claimed that the surgery provided him with physical relief, helping him stay active. When Van Vliet was asked if the Hall of Famer was considering another shot inside the squared circle, the “Texas Rattlesnake” shared a positive response.
“I could. God. And just saying that takes me back to when we did the WrestleMania (38) match with Kevin Owens in Dallas, Texas, and they didn’t send me to the ring to practice to do any timing or hit the ropes,” Austin added. “I’ve seen people explode walking to the ring because that’s exactly what a crowd can do to you. So you just get (in) there with Kevin Owens and try to have that match with him, where we didn’t count it as a match, but it’s going to be a match, so to speak.”
Further, Austin referred to having ring rust while facing Owens and claimed that he would have liked to have faced Owens in his “prime.” Despite being well past his pro-wrestling prime, the Hall of Famer believes he is still capable of wrestling.
“I could still do it,” Austin remarked. “I’m not advocating for anything. So I’m not selling a match here. But you asked me, can I? Yes.”
Austin went on to answer if he would like to wrestle again. “Probably not, I’ll say that, but you say never say never.”
After a 19-year hiatus, Austin returned for a No Holds Barred match against Owens at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. While Austin has not competed since WrestleMania 38, was present at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
