Xavier Worthy throws his helmet in frustration after being injured against the Colts

On Sunday afternoon, The Kansas City Chiefs took the field at home for the game against the Indianapolis Colts. While it wasn’t officially a must-win game, it sure felt like it for the Chiefs coming off a loss to the Denver Broncos last week that dropped their record to 5-5 in the 2025 NFL season.

The Chiefs got off to a rough start in this matchup, falling behind 14-3 early, and added insult to injury when a wide receiver Xavier Worthy got off with obvious injury causing him to throw the helmet in frustration.

“Xavier Worthy limped off the field and threw his helmet. Obviously in a lot of pain,” ESPN’s Nate Taylor reported on X, formerly Twitter.

The Chiefs also received some tough news regarding the injury to star offensive lineman Trey Smith.

“Mike Caliendo on right guard Trey Smith early in the second half. No sign of Trey Smith on the sideline, who injured his right ankle in the first half,” reported Matt Derrick of Chiefsdigest.com.

Unfortunately, Smith would later be ruled out of the game, but the good news is that Worthy eventually returned to the lineup in the second half after running from a side injury.

Worthy is a key member of the Chiefs’ receiving core, one that started the year without the suspended Rushie Rice but has since come on strong in recent weeks.

Either way, the Chiefs will next take the field on Thanksgiving afternoon on the road against the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 PM ET.
