Zaion Williamson’s winning comeback

Zion WilliamsonLike Victor Vembanyama, Zion Williamson used the weekend to go back to school. Like Victor Vembanyama, he was the sixth man. And like Victor Vembanyama, he won! Suffice it to say, the night couldn’t have been more successful for the Pelicans’ “franchise player” with this success 114-104 against the Bulls.

Despite playing time limitations, Zion Williamson scored 18 points, including 7 in the money.

“It was a game plan that allowed me to finish the match, with the playing time my body was used to during certain parts of the quarter.” Zion Williamson explained in the Pelicans locker room. “The coach explained everything to me and it wasn’t a problem for me because it allowed me to finish the match. The pace was pretty good, but above all I’m happy that we won.”

Four different injuries have forced the All-Star to miss 16 of 27 games, and the Pelicans have won just five games this season. But Zion Williamson assures that he is done with long-term injuries.

“Injuries are bullshit, and there’s no other way to say it.” confides. “Rehab isn’t fun either. But the work I did on my body over the summer allows me, if something happens, not to be out for too long. I can come back faster and more efficiently.”
