As Zion James, the Hornets played against the Pistons

Despite Zion James’ incredible half-court shot, the Hornets fell short of their 10th straight victory, falling 110-104 to the Pistons.
It was a valiant effort for the hosts, who were on a nine-game winning streak. However, Detroit outscored them, outscoring Charlotte by 14 points during the second and third quarters, which had the biggest impact on the game.
The possessions (steals and blocks) and inside goals made the difference in this clash. The Pistons dominated in both categories after recording 16 drives and scoring 60 points in the paint. It wasn’t the same for the Hornets as they made just seven shots and produced 26 points inside the paint.
Four players scored in double figures for Charlotte in the loss. Brandon Miller led the team with 24 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. He shot 8-of-18 from the field, including 4-of-10 from beyond the arc and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. LaMelo Ball followed with 20 points and four assists, Conn Knuepel had 20 points and five rebounds, while Grant Williams had 12 points and five assists.
Charlotte fell to a 25-29 record on the season, holding onto 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are above the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks while behind the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat.
The Hornets will look to bounce back in their next home match. They host the Hawks and tip-off will take place on February 11th at 7pm ET.
