Zion Williamson posterizes Victor Vembanyama with a one-handed jam
Zion Williamson had a crazy dunk Victor Vembanyama during New Orleans The Pelicans match against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night.
Williamson entered his seventh year in the NBA looking to be his healthiest since the 2023-24 season. He has dealt with weight and injury issues throughout his young career, possibly making this season his most important yet.
Williamson opened the season well, scoring 27 points and grabbing nine rebounds against the Memphis Grizzlies. He continued that momentum in this match against Wembanyama and Spurs. The big play happened in the first 20 seconds of the game, when Williamson entered the game and dove over the tall man in style.
As Zion Williamson, the Pelicans played against the Spurs

This campaign will be a year of proof for Zion Williamson, showing the need to have the best season of his career. Despite his efforts in this game, it wasn’t enough as the Pelicans lost 120-116 to Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in overtime.
Both teams exchanged blows during the game. Neither refused to put much distance on each other until San Antonio finally pulled away in overtime. In the last five minutes of the game, they were better than the home team with 13-9 and thus secured the victory away from home.
Rebounding and 3-point shooting made the difference in this matchup. The Spurs won in both categories, grabbing 59 rebounds and knocking down 13 3-pointers. It was not the same for the Pelicans, they made 45 rebounds while making only 10 three-pointers.
Five players scored in double figures for New Orleans, including Williamson. He finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. He shot 8 of 18 from the field and 11 of 16 from the free throw line. Trey Murphy III followed with 24 points and 10 rebounds, Jordan Poole had 21 points and five assists, Derrick Quinn had 15 points and six rebounds, while Jeremiah Fears had 13 points and four rebounds.
The Pelicans will look to bounce back in their next game as they are at home. They host the Boston Celtics on October 27th at 8pm ET.
