Eagles’ Jalen Hurts has jokes about AJ Brown reading a book on the bench
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers 22-10 on Wild Card Weekend. They advance to the Divisional Round after a disappointing Wild Card loss last year. Although it was a poor offensive performance, a big part the conversation was about AJ Brown and his book. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts he sneered at Brown reading habits at his press conference.
“I never saw him read.” “I saw the book in his hands,” Hurts said. “Everyone has different things and finds their flow in different ways.” So that’s how he chooses to do it.”
The book is called Inner Excellence by Jim Murphy, a former minor league baseball player. Many professional athletes have turned to this book to help with the mental side of their game. Brown claims to be reading a book on the sideline during every Eagles play and that helps him stay in the right space.
The Eagles struggled in the passing game and Brown’s stats were a victim of that. He had just one catch for ten yards on three targets, but it didn’t matter to the game as a whole. Hurts finished with just 131 yards and 13 completions. They will need either the Rams or Vikings in the Divisional Round next week.

The Eagles and their fans will wait until Monday night to find out their next opponent. The The Vikings and Rams will play in Arizona on Monday night due to the fire in Los Angeles. Philly will host the winner Sunday at 2pm in the Divisional Round. Both teams had great seasons and could have picked the Eagles to make it to the NFC Championship.
The Vikings weren’t expected to make the playoffs after losing Kirk Cousins ββin free agency. They went with Sam Darnold and JJ McCarthy at quarterback, and when the rookie got hurt, he took over. They now have 14 wins and a real chance to play the Eagles in a huge playoff game.
On the other hand, the Rams had an up-and-down season that ended with the NFC West title. Neither of these teams played the Eagles in the regular season and could come in and upset Philly in a big way. But their game on Monday will show whether they are in top form ahead of that game. The Eagles’ offense wasn’t in top form Sunday, but they found a way. Perhaps Inner Excellence can give them some advice before next week.
