Paul George among the stars who skated on ClutchPoints’ NBA Top 100 list

With the start of the 2025-26 NBA regular season looming, ClutchPoints took the time to rank the top 100 players in the league. The list has seen some young stars jump on board. However, veteran players and former All-Stars have experienced a drastic drop in rank. Anfernie Simmons, Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, Paul George and Rudy Gobert fell more than 20 spots.

George is unlikely to play for the Philadelphia 76ers in the regular season opener. Whether or not he’s on the field in the first game of 82, the pressure is on him to bounce back. However, the 35-year-old didn’t inspire much faith in ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Sigel. George was a comfortable 20th last season, and the forward has dropped all the way to 49th in 2025..

The 76ers forward isn’t the only aging star to see his ranking drop. Gobert figures to be a key part of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ season as they try to return to the Western Conference Finals for the third straight season. However, the former Defensive Player of the Year slipped all the way to 75th on this year’s list.

Simmons, Beal and Porzingis changed teams this offseason. Porzingis was part of a big trade that sent him to the Atlanta Hawks. He, along with Treo Young and Jalen Johnson, is one of the popular dark horse picks in the wide-open Eastern Conference. Simmons and Beal also have a chance to contribute in the playoffs, but faith in them has been shaken.

Bill has a chance for a fresh start this season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Simmons is also working, joining the Boston Celtics to help fill the hole left by Jayson Tatum. Despite the odds before them, both stars slipped in the ClutchPoints rankings.

All five stars have a chance to return this season. However, if their struggles continue, they could drop out of the top 100 by this time next year.
