Mohamed Diawara is the 14th player of the Knicks

Mohammed DiawaraThat was one of the options from the beginning. Several million dollars from the “second apron”, the Knicks really had to maneuver to fill out their team, although they decided to believe Landry Shamet.

The shooter was thus the 13th man on New York’s team and, barring a transfer, the only type of deal that allowed New York to complete the team with a 14th player without crossing the “second apron” threshold had to go to a player who had just been selected… Mohammed Diawara.

The 51st pick of the last draft therefore signs for a year and completes the composition of Mike Brown’s corps.

A nice reward for the former player of Cholet, who started in the last preparatory game of the Knicks. “I wanted to play with ten players, I had minutes in mind. I wanted to see certain players, like Mo”his coach explained. “He’s 19 years old (20 actually) and who would have thought he’d be a starter at Madison Square Garden? But he’s been playing well in practice. He deserved to be on the field, that’s why he was in the top five.”

Barring an avalanche of injuries, the young French powerhouse still has very little chance of seeing the field, behind Karl-Anthony Towns, Mitchell Robinson, Ariel Huckporty or even Guerschon Yabusele.
