Trae Young avoids the worst, but will still be out for a month
A big setback for the Hawks, without their leaders for at least four weeks. Trae Young was injured in the opening minutes against the Nets on Wednesday, when Muhammad Gueye accidentally fell on his right knee during a fall, causing a strong twist.
Examination revealed a sprain of the medial collateral ligament. Serious injury but no major damage, thus avoiding an even more worrying scenario. It remains that the absence of a leader, the true conductor of the system Quinn Snyderpromises to be very hard to make up for. Especially since the Hawks were still in the adjustment phase, with the integrations Kristaps Porzingis, Nikhil Alexander-Walker etc Luke Kennard.
Everyone will have to raise their game, as was the case in the last win in Indiana with Jalen Johnson as the new leader of the pack with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists.
“It will take time, but we are all disciplined”, he stated. “Everyone is working hard. Everyone is willing to listen. We take our video sessions very seriously. If we continue to improve after each match and approach each match with a winning mindset, everything will go well. You shouldn’t put too much pressure on yourself and feel like you have to do too much.”
The Hawks are really going to have to get used to it for at least the next fifteen games…
